Looks like dad needs me to cook up another new weapon to counter Lylat again. Weird, it just seems like yesterday that they adapted their shielding and weapons to match our own. Of course the ever present Demon and Fireburst weapons have always been a threat, no doubt about that, but what concerns me is how powerful they are without using conventional explosives. I've yet to examine an intact Fireburst bomb, but from field reports it seems like an advanced incendiary device with an odd filament. It really intrigues me... And don't get me started on the Demon weapons. Oooh, how I'd love to replicate that tech. My nation's not a big fan of energy weapons, but they are useful nonetheless. The only energy weapons we use that I can think off the top of my head is the ARP-5 Pinprick. I built that rifle from the ground up (okay, so I played too much Angel Wing. Big woop, the soldiers love it.) and I believe I can incorporate Lylatian Demon weapon technology into our own designs.
Basically, the Demon weapons work like this; it is a holographic rifle, firing a laser like beam of magnetized light that behaves like a solid object. Yes, I did say: SOLID OBJECT. How they pulled this off is quite hard, and even trying to reverse engineer this bitch is a pain in the ass. But I just love poking around this shit. I've had taken apart several of the sniper rifles and two examples of the launcher variant and both of which are very foreign to me. Sure, all the bits and pieces make sense, but some parts baffle me in their complexity. I've never seen a magnetic driver in a laser rifle, nor have I ever dealt with such a powerful one. I hope I don't get sick from all this electromagnetic radiation. I've seen what happens to electric types that have overloaded their electric organs, and it's not pretty. Caused by strong magnets, it basically makes your electric sac explode from all the built up current. Back to the Demon rifle: some parts seem out of place in a laser weapon, namely the magnetic drivers, ionizing chamber, and plasma induction array. It seems to be a hybrid of laser and plasma rifle designs, but it creates a weapon we've never been able to successfully replicate. Hopefully soon I can reverse engineer our own sniper variant of this technology. I know my big sister's gonna love it.
Well, the world didn't implode and I'm partying it up. Earlier today I told my big bro and sis that I finally bloomed, I finally fell in love with a girl about a week ago. Now before you start thinking that it is the end of the world (and truth be told a relationship under any other circumstance would waste ungodly amounts of time, energy, and emotions) this girl is different. Her name is Jill, and by some extreme, unbelievably tiny chance, she teleported here from another dimension. Talk about fate. The perfect girl for me just lands right behind me while I was fixing Mikey's hand cannon. We chatted for a bit after her and her friends teleported in, and she was EXTREMELY smart. Like, my level smart. And in all the right areas where I was lacking too! Not only that, she also supplements my natural talents in aerospace engineering and physics as well. I can't get her out of my mind. She's really pretty too, Spinda, with human-like eyes and spiral pupils. Big, round framed glasses, cute hair, and a brown spot over left eye. Not to mention that she is HOT. Really hot. Nice physique, supplemented by a high metabolism. She loves to work and research, and she usually spends all day doing so, when she's not out with her friends of course. When we first met we instantly clicked, but whenever I tried to talk to her as a potential mate I tend to tense up. Sure, we could go on and on about aircraft designs, avionics, and all those amazing sciency bits. But I haven't had the nerve to ask her out. Mikey and Tanya are couching me through my anxiety, and teaching me how to talk to women (Hell, Mikey's been with two other chicks before he met the Asian Troll). I've also ran simulations of projected outcomes if I were to have a relationship with Jill, all were very promising. I was concerned that it would have cut into my extremely valuable resources, but no!: the simulations showed that with Jill by my side the Federation's research speed would be doubled!! As for the expense of my personal time, I would feel a lot happy and finally prove to the world that I can make the impossible, possible. I'm David Maxwell Rivers, there is nothing I can't do to bend the fabric of existence to my whims. And that is a statement I can say with confidence.
BIG NEWS! I've got some inspiration on the development of some new underwater firearms. Thanks to my buddy Mark Gilbert, he showed me some examples of replica human underwater weapons used by the former Russian Federation and the Old Soviet Union. The APS rifle and a four barreled pistol. The weapons used a drag stabilized dart that was longer than a conventional round. They were really long, think the size of a small pen. With our current rifles, this would be unfeasible. Fear not, the "dart" part of the discussion is where I make my point. I instantly associated the synonyms of "dart" and "flechette" and with that thought I had it: a SABOT cartridge with a flechette round that could be fired from a conventional, slightly modified, firearm. When I tested the APS with my new smoothbored, waterproofed AK-113 platform the results were lack-luster at first. But with a quick 3D refabrication of the SABOT and a conventional rifled barrel, I made it so that the centripetal force discards the casing of the flechette, making it look like a conventional bullet only to peel away an aquadynamic dart. The results were amazing. Range of the rifle increased from just 100 yards to 300! That is equal to land based engagement zones! Perfect! I had it down, now I just need to make a few million more of these. Plus the shotgun variant... And the RPKs... Annnd the sniper rifles... And a rocket launcher... Or, is it a torpedo launcher?... Eureka! Why not both! Oh shit, that's do-able. A counterweight to the rocket makes backblast dissipate underwater, but what about the rocket itself? Aren't chemical rockets unusable underwater? OH! The rocket motor IS the countermass behind the projectile when it's fired underwater! That is genius. Hell, I'll make it have four barrels in a lightweight nanomaterial frame. Ghost is gonna love it. Oh, and the 30 round helix mag shotgun too. He loves his shotguns. He goes out hunting a lot and had his first shotgun at age five. That was when he was living in Arisona, good amount of wild boar he says, that was his favorite. I like meat, but damn, I'm the only one in my family that really likes to eat it nonstop. My dad's an otter, fish and crabs are his favorite. Mikey loves Arctic cod, naturally gravitating to fish and chips. Tanya, pfft, she's a vaporeon. Of course she'll eat anything that comes out of the ocean. Mom grew up in the Northern Luna Isles, formerly Japan, so yeah: seaweed and sushi and fish, fish, and more fish. URGH! What's a Jolteon got to do to get a decent steak around here? I love my family, but my one and only complaint is the lack of meat. That's it, everything else is peachy fine. Arceus I love them all. I'm looking forward to the new baby. I may not be that great with kids but hopefully my new brother or sister won't be as bothersome as Venise... OH CRAP! SHE'S IN THE LAB AGAIN PRESSING BUTTONS!
HAPPY HOLICHRISTRAMAQONZAHANNIKAFUSTERCLUCK! Tanya took me to her favorite club today, my Goddd the dubstep and electronica was GOOOD... I couldn't help but dance along. I thought my mixes were okay, BUT HOLY CRAP. The DJ, Skillzmakekillz, was really talented. Sakura was her name, she was really good friends with my sister. VIP treatment and all baby. Ghost came along too, he's always a crowd pleaser. That Zorua has some insane moves. I wonder if Ghost, Sakura, and I could do a collaboration. I'll probably just do the background beat just to be safe. I haven't listened to one of Ghost's mixes in a while, and to be honest with you, I'll be hooked on SMK for a good while. One song really struck me though, "Fight Back." That song would be perfect to go along with the ending parade when we win this war. I already subscribed to her account on You-Tube and you should probably too, if anyone were to read this (I don't mind really, just put it back when you're done and forget you ever read anything. You do know there is a camera on the cover right? Haha, gotcha). Great stuff on there, melodic electronic music, VERY uplifting. And not aggressive like you'd find with some dubstep. I find dubstep good for battle themes and aggressive workouts. I'm gonna go listen to some SMK right now as a matter of fact. Oh right! Presents! Since I'm writing this at around 11PM my family is all asleep and I all got them something good. I got my dad a new car, a really fancy one too! Luxury model RX. For mom I got her this really cool five in one ultimate geek pen for when she has to present in front of the council. It has a laser pointer, UV light, stylus, magnet, and even writes underwater. I also got her a fancy anti-tangle brush. It's really cool, it gets rid of knots and will make her mane and tail all the more poofy. Plus the car is hers as well. For Mikey I went with the traditional route: Warzone 3 Premium Edition and ARMY 2 for the Week Z mod, plus a shocky pen for that yearly prank. For Tanya I got her the same thing plus a do it yourself slushie mug. Oh! You know what I forgot, to put in this journal a few days ago? I FINALLY ASKED JILL OUT! You can tell by my choice of capitalized letters that she said yes, with a little convincing, and she's staying over for the holidays at our house with her father. My parents and her father got along fine, judging from the facial expressions of Jill's dad (he's mute BTW, poor shame really. Luckily he met with our other mute family friend, Daisuke, and they both became fast friends). He's sleeping downstairs in the guest bedroom while Jill and I share my room... And a bed... Hehehe... I'll let her have her fun with me when that time comes. Oh, and before you wonder; I got her a sapphire knife as a present. She's quite skilled at knife fighting, who would have thought? I think it's badass and she's really sharp and to the point (Haha, I pride myself on puns). You know, she's really cute while sleeping. I'm gonna call it a night and cuddle up to her.
